Activated Alumina Filter Cartridges
General Information:
Activated alumina is a media produced by the controlled calcination of alumina trihydrate. It has been used for the removal of undesirable contaminants such as fluoride, hydrogen chloride, hydrogen sulfide, carbonyl sulfide, carbon dioxide, arsenic, alcohols and ethers.

Activated alumina cartridges have been used extensively to remove contaminants at various concentration levels from various commercial and aqueous industrial waste streams.

Activated Alumina Filter Cartridges:
Activated alumina filter cartridges offer the advantages of contaminant removal and filtration treatment. The use of these cartridges eliminates problems associated with treatment using bulk media and the need for a separate filtration system. Our activated alumina cartridge is currently available in 2 3/4" outside diameter and 10" length. These cartridges are designed to treat liquids under various flow rate conditions. Contaminant concentrations and liquid flow rates are usually considered in determining the size and number of cartridges required for treatment. The activated alumina cartridges are also designed for usage in single or multiple tube vessels.

The prefiltering outer shell consists of a strong, non-corroding, cylindrical polyethylene shell capped at both ends with ethylene-propylene end caps. There are approximately 0.64 lbs of activated alumina media per 10 inch equivalent cartridge (2 1/4" diameter). The flow of liquid through the cartridge is from the outer porous shell through the activated alumina media. This process allows for the removal of organic and inorganic contaminants. The liquid then flows towards the inner core through a 3 micron wound layer of polypropylene media.

Activated alumina is produced by a careful controlled calcination of alumina trihydrate blended with other absorbents such as carbon, clay minerals, molecular bonding agents and elastomeric polymers

Why do I need a Shower Filter?
